Run the 2010 London Marathon for AMREF

Run for AMREFAre you a runner?

With the ballot for the 2010 Virgin London Marathon now closed, there are two fantastic ways in which you can help us raise valuable funds to continue our life saving work in Africa by running the race for us.

1. Your own entry

If you were lucky enough to get a spot in the 2010 marathon through the ballot system, have you considered running the marathon for us? If you are passionate about improving the  health of millions of people in Africa and would love to raise vital funds for our work, then we would love to hear from you. In return for your help we will support you every step of the way — with our regular running newsletters, training guides and an AMREF vest to wear on the big day.

2. Our Golden Bond places

Even if you don't have a place yet, you can still run the 2010 Virgin London Marathon for AMREF UK. We have a limited amount of golden bond guaranteed places in this year’s race. If you are up to the challenge of the race, as well as to raising at least £2000 for us, we will guarantee you a place on the start line next April, and provide you with all the fundraising and training help you need.

How to apply?

If you are interested in applying either to run the race for AMREF UK, or for one of our exclusive golden bond places, then simply download an application form. For more information about this please email a.ennis@amrefuk.org or phone 0207 269 6865 and ask to speak to a member of our staff.

Our other running events

The 2010 Virgin London Marathon isn’t the only running event that we have places in. We have exclusive golden bond places in next year’s London BUPA 10k and Berlin Marathon. If you fancy the challenge of running either of these for us, or if you are involved in another event that you would like to use to raise money for AMREF UK then please get in touch on the numbers above.

Running not your thing?

Don’t worry, there are loads of ways that you can get involved and help people all across Africa transform their lives. Visit our get involved page to find out how.
