Improving health education in Africa through e-learning

AMREF will be presenting its experience and expertise in e-learning, particularly around training nurses, at this year's 'e Learning Africa' conference in Tanzania.

Nurses using computer equipment as part of eLearning project, KenyaThe conference will be held from 25th - 27th May 2011, and will focus on ways which can improve the learning, living and employment opportunities of young African people. Mobile learning in health, education and agriculture will also be high on the agenda.

In line with this year's theme, AMREF will be chairing a session on ‘eLearning and the Future of Africa's Health Sector’, showcasing our innovative work in Kenya and Uganda.

AMREF will share its expertise on the following topics, presenting two papers:

  • Building Lifelong Skills and Competencies in the Health Sector: Does eLearning Deliver?
  • The Role of Mobile Learning in Distance Education in Developing Regions
