We think it is outrageous that 1 in 16 women die in pregnancy or childbirth in Africa. You can take part in a women-only fun run this summer in London's Hyde Park and help AMREF to train more midwives and save more women's lives.
Event: Adidas Women's 5K Challenge
Date: Sunday 11th September 2011
Minimum sponsorship: £60
AMREF has guaranteed places in this event, which is takes place in the beautiful surroundings of Hyde Park. We would love you to join the AMREF team and run to raise money for African women.
Just £60 could provide a medi-kit, which includes all the equipment a midwife needs to deliver a baby safely.
If you would like to take part, please email Lucy Scanlon on l.scanlon@amrefuk.org to register your interest. If you already have a place in the event and would like to join the AMREF team and run for African women, please get in touch, so we can send you your AMREF running vest and fundraising pack.
Support from AMREF
Everyone who runs the Brighton Marathon for AMREF will receive support from our dedicated fundraising team from the moment you register until the race itself. We will send you a fundraising pack to kick start your efforts, and provide you with an AMREF running vest for the big day. We can also provide you with training tips and support.
